Mount Yerer

The 3100m-high Mount Yerer is a four-million-yer-old extinct volcano set on the western Rift Valley wall, to the north of the village Dukem on the Addis-Bishoftu road. The deep semi-collapsed caldera has a towering rock in its centre. The crater rim offers views across to the crater lakes around Bishoftu and is also notable for supporting large numbers of bredding raptors. The caldera is about 10km from Dukem.
